Will my medication still be safe if shipping takes longer than expected?

Every order is shipped in insulated packaging with cold packs to help protect your medication during transit and account for possible temperature fluctuations during delivery.

Short periods outside of refrigeration do not automatically mean your medication is unsafe. Based on stability testing and information provided by our partner pharmacies, the formulation has been analytically tested to remain safe and effective when exposed to elevated temperatures of up to 120°F for up to 7 consecutive days. The medication may also tolerate freezing without compromising quality or efficacy if the vial remains unpunctured. We factor in potential temperature variations during shipping and take appropriate precautions to protect your medication while in transit.

The insulated packaging and cold packs are included as safeguards during shipping, including in cases of unexpected transit delays. Once your order is delivered, the medication should be refrigerated according to the storage instructions provided with your prescription.

Storage tips

  • Refrigerate your medication as soon as possible after delivery.

  • Avoid exposing the vial to direct sunlight or high heat.

  • Follow the storage instructions included with your prescription.

  • Inspect the vial for visible signs of damage, such as cloudiness, specks, or a damaged seal, and consult your provider if anything looks unusual.

  • If the vial was punctured, do not expose it to freezing temperatures.

  • Store Tirzepatide and similar medications in your refrigerator as directed. Extra materials like styrofoam are not needed after delivery.

If you have any concerns about your specific delivery or temperature exposure during transit, contact our Care Team through the Patient Portal so a licensed provider can review your situation.
